Microsoft cuts cord for optical mouse

[url=http://www.microsoft.com]Microsoft[/url] has stepped up to knock Logitech down from their wireless optical throne with the announcement of the [url=http://www.everythingusb.com/hardware/index/Microsoft_Wireless_IntelliMouse_Explorer.htm]Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer[/url].

With 5 fully programmable program-specific buttons, the Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer gives users the same features of the Intellimouse Explorer, but allows for wireless freedom, with up to 6 feet of range.

Equipped with a high-frequency optical sensor and special power optimizations, the Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer offers users optical precision and efficient battery usage via touch sensors and 'Intelligent illumination'. Power is provided by two AA batteries.

Supporting Windows 98/ME/2000/XP and MacOS 8.6+, the Wireless IntelliMouse Explorer will be available September 2001 for around $74.95.
