First USB OTG Hard Drive Sees Light

  June 25th, 2004

Taiwanese-based OEM manufacturer Welland gives us a glimpse of what the USB OTG has to offer with the first OEM OTG hard drive.

This dual-role storage works as a regular Hi-Speed USB hard drive when connected to a PC, and doubles as a USB host that can initiate file transfer either from a card reader, a USB flash drive or a digital camera, without going through a PC. And its built-in 780mA Li-ion battery powers the operations.

Similarly, Delkin’s USB Bridge (sans storage of any kind) brings direct connect between a wide range of storage and consumer electronics for less than $70.
