Rio Unveils 5GB iPod Mini-killerPositioned to take on iPod Mini 4GB, $249 Rio Carbon uses Seagate’s new ST1 1-inch 5GB hard drive for storage. Offering a stainless steel look, the MP3 player interfaces with either a Mac or PC via a Hi-Speed USB connection, which also offers charging in addition to conventional AC recharge. Compared to the iPod Mini, the Rio Carbon’s extra 1GB offers 25 percent more capacity; plays up to 20 hours on a single charge; captures voice memos; and supports WMA DRM.
