Waterproof MP3 Player Uses Bone Conduction

  October 26th, 2004

WE RECOMMEND
Love to swim like a fish but hate hearing your music like one? Finis has released a new type of waterproof MP3 player that relies on bone conduction as opposed to air conduction to get sound to your inner ear, which eliminates the muffled noise you would hear with other underwater MP3 players.

Priced at $249, the SwiMP3 holds about thirty songs and has a battery life of four hours, which isn’t quite outstanding, but remember that you won’t be in the water that long. Apart from the MP3 player itself, the package also includes a carrying case, earplugs, a fully licensed version of MusicMatch, and a pair of Lane 4 goggles.
