Benwin's Chic USB-D 2.0 Speakers

  October 28th, 2004

Benwin's latest line of USB-D 2.0 powered speakers are now truly digital, meaning a single USB cord not only powers the system but also delivers rich audio without any noise interference seen in analog speakers.

Driven by a Class-D amplifier, the new speakers can supposedly produce 80% more power while consuming 40% less electricity than an ordinary amplifier. In either a 48 or 80 watt configuration, the speakers are all driven by aluminum bullet drivers and Benwin's Neomanic Microtweeter.

With a total of four designs to choose from that look like they came from a Star Wars movie, the USB-D 2.0 series starts at a mere $20 and tops out at $50.
