Iomega and IOGEAR have simultaneously announced the availability of two new hard drives centered on the 1.8" HDD form factor.
The Iomega Mini Hard Drive comes in 20GB and 40GB capacities at 4200 rpm, and is 100% bus powered, although there is a power switch so you can conserve battery life.
Like the Iomega drives, the IOGEAR ION drives also come in 20GB and 40GB models at 4200 rpm, but the difference lies in the connectivity and power options you can choose from. The included power cable is optional, and apart from a USB only interface, there are also combo models that include a FireWire 400 port as well as the USB 2.0 port for use with older Macs.
