EvolutionTV: First Hardware DivX PVR for Mac

EvolutionTV: First Hardware DivX PVR for MacMiglia Technology, creators of the AlchemyTV PCI TV tuner for Mac has announced their first external TV tuner, the aluminum EvolutionTV. Using USB 2.0 as the interface, the tuner outperforms Elgato's FireWire EyeTV 200 FireWire by being the first Mac-compatible tuner to support DivX hardware encoding, although MPEG-1 output for VCDs is not supported.

Supported hardware encoded formats are MPEG-2/4 and DivX, with resolutions as high as 720x480 (NTSC) or 720x576 (PAL). The included DVR software can also schedule recordings via TitanTV's electronic program guide as well as iCal.

The EvolutionTV will be shipping March 15th with a MSRP of $279.
