NZXT Avatar Enters Gaming Mouse Battle Arena

  August 12th, 2008

WE RECOMMEND

Judging from the mass of gaming mice on the market, you might think that the gaming mouse is the most popular USB device around. We have looked at masses of mice over the years with some of them being excellent - like the Logitech G9 - and some of them not so good.

NZXT - a well-known as a maker of computer cases and other peripherals like the Cryo Laptop cooler - has announced it is getting into the gaming mouse market with a mouse it calls the Avatar. The wired mouse offers sensitivity of up to 2600 dpi, and has adjustable sensitivity on the fly with an LED indicator that shows the sensitivity setting at a glance.

The NZXT Avatar can process 5.8 megapixels per second, and has a maximum frame rate of 6469 frames per second. Its seven programmable keys allow customization to specific games, and they can reportedly last for 5 million clicks. NZXT says that the mouse sports an ergonomic design, but it is also made for ambidexterity. Last but not least, the Avatar is coated in a rubber grip to avoid slipping while its Teflon mouse feet ensures the least amount of desk friction.
