Son of THUMP - Oakley's Music to Your Ears

In what has now become a game of Cat and Mouse, following BMW's release of the MP3 Sunwear, which followed the release of the Oakley THUMP, Oakley has released the second generation of their musical sunglasses, the THUMP 2. Cheaper than the original and double the capacity at 1GB, the THUMP 2 brings stylish MP3 eyewear to a (somewhat) more reasonable price. What's more, they're no longer fugly!

Apart from the redesigned frame based on the O-Matter Gascans and the size/price difference, the cross-platform THUMP 2 is mostly identical to it's still obscenely priced predecessor. The battery has a playback rating of six hours, although it now has a three-color indicator for the battery level, the DSP is still 75MHz with the same 18-bit DAC, and the lens is still Plutonite for filtering ultraviolet light.

The THUMP 2 comes in one of four color schemes including polished black, polished white, grey, and bronze. Capacities are available in 256MB, 512MB, and 1GB for $299, $349, and $449 respectively. Each should begin shipping in about a month.
