Phantom Mouse Gives the Illusion of Work Security

Phantom Mouse Gives the Illusion of Work Security

Got faster mouse fingers than you do feet - or keyboard skills? Goofing around at work and surfing Everything USB instead of doing your real job? Want to keep the boss from catching on if he or she walks by? If quitting your job and moving on to something you enjoy more doesn't seem to be an option, the Phantom Mouse might be the peripheral you've been waiting for. In addition to the normal mouse functions, the Phantom Mouse has a red button built into a spot above the scroll wheel. Clicking on it is the equivalent of clicking on the Show Desktop button in the Windows XP menu bar; it instantly (or as instantly as your computer will allow) minimizes all of your computer's windows and sends you back to the desktop, saving you from the wrath of your superiors.

Users of this mouse will probably feel pretty clever, but we have to warn you: any company with a sizable number of computers has gurus who can tell exactly where every user on their network is going - and whether or not those places are illicit. You may not get caught red handed, but that won't stop the Man from coming down on you, CSI-style, Phantom Mouse or not.
