Philips Photo Frame's New Screen Sizes & SHDC Support

  August 31st, 2007

Filed under USB Webcams & Digital Cameras

In celebration of selling the one millionth photo frame, Philips has decided to make a few more sizes available ranging from 5.6" to 7" and 10". This removes the 9" from the previous generation. Given all the frames boast the same resolution, the smallest sized 5.6" will pack the most pixels per square inch at 140ppi. The photo frames are also designed to align with the photos native 3:2 or 4:3 formats, ensuring the pics are displayed in natural appearance with distortion.

Philips didn't post the specs yet, but they did say the new 7" and 10" can be powered by an integrated rechargeable battery and the entire line will support the new SHDC format. Like its predecessor, the new Photo Frames will ship with SmartAlbum for photo management and slideshow setup as well as changeable frames.
