Philips Announces New Universal USB Charger

Keeping our USB gadgets charged can be a full time job if you use multiple devices. Philips is going to make charging easier on us with their new line of universal chargers. One of the five is particularly interesting for users of gadgets that charge via USB.

The SCM7880 plugs into your AC outlet on the wall and has a USB and mini USB port to charge your gadgets. The cool part is that there is an internal rechargeable battery so that you can use the charger on the road for longer battery life for your phone or MP3 player. Also included are a number of different tips so that you can adapt the charger to multiple devices. There is no word on pricing or availability at this time. If you prefer to get your power from Sol, Brando has a solar charger that is similar.
