Another innovative backup solution presented at CES came to our attention, and much to our surprise it came from the Polaroid booth. Who would have guessed? Developed by Storage Application Corp., the ClickFree Media Backup is a portable hard drive with special firmware that automatically loads when you plug in the drive a la U3 style, then proceeds to scour every last folder (except the naughty ones like deleted emails) for photos and copies them to the portable drive - all without ever having to install software or even click a single "OK", so that grandma can finally backup her grandchildren. More details plus a promotional video with the most exaggerated computer frustrations we've seen after the jump.
In addition to brute force backups, you can always go into the options to configure what to not back up, or to select the photos the software found and order prints online, create photo CDs, and email them to friends with simple shortcuts. Shipping should commence in 4-6 weeks with a $120 price tag, and a full range of ClickFree backup drives geared towards photos, music, videos, and the whole lot are expected to follow by Q4 this year.About Everything USB
