SanDisk has introduced a new biometric USB flash drive to its Cruzer-series.
Called the Cruzer Profile, the secure flash drive measuring at 60x24x14mm adopts a two-piece tethered design, allowing a convenient finger swipe angle every time. This is in contrast to traditional all-in-one biometric drive, like Lexar JumpDrive TouchGuard. Available in 512MB ($99) and 1GB ($199.99), the Profile reportedly will not require any loading of the security apps on the host computer, avoiding tampering.
When Cruzer Profile ships in mid-April, it will be accompanied by CruzerLock 2 data encryption software, now upgraded to 448-bit AES; CruzerSync for Outlook synchronization; and Cruzer PocketCache that only keeps a history of changed files during each backup, thus saving precious space on the flash drive.
