Even as ExpressCard begins to proliferate on laptops, there are rest of the us who are totally left out by the wave of ExpressCard network cards and TV cards. Since these are most likely to be actually USB-based, you can get a USB-to-ExpressCard Adapter like from SIIG to easily add an ExpressCard/54 /34 slot. The company claims USB-based cards will work transparently through a USB 2.0 port as the host PC won't detect presence of the adapter. Keep in mind that the SIIG will not work with PCI-E based cards, such as eSATA, FireWire 400/800. USB-based ExpressCards are likely to be EVDO/HSDPA, memory adapters, some SSD drives, some sound cards and maybe TV cards. About Everything USB
