35MB/s USB Flash Drives Coming!

Silicon Motion announced today that they have customers that have integrated their new and speedy USB 2.0 disk controllers, producing the fastest USB 2.0 controllers ever made. The new SM321E and SM324 controllers are capable of read speeds of up to 35MB/s as compared to the next fastest controller with read speeds of only 30MB/s.

The new controllers sport write speeds of 24MB/s, and the SM324 also features SPI interface allowing for master and slave modes. Functionality to integrate features into the USB drives such as GPS, biometrics, Bluetooth and capacity display are available as well.
