SimpleTech has the Ferrari of External Drives

  June 9th, 2006

I say the SimpleTech drive is a Ferrari not because it is fast, but because its outer case was designed by the famed Pininfarina, who designed some notable Ferrari sports cars over the years. If a Ferrari isn't in your budget, at least you can have the Ferrari of external hard drives. It's even Ferrari red.

The drive is Ferrari looking for sure, no doubt that is the intended appeal of the drive. I can say it looks much cooler than most external hard drives with its bright red color and wedge shape. Like mom always says, it's what's inside that counts. Inside the shiny case is a plebeian hard drive spinning at only 5400RPM and maxing out to an underwhelming 100GB with 8MB of cache. Interface is naturally via USB 2.0.
