Sony Readies A860 Walkman to Help Woo the Audiophile Crowd
Not that long ago we brought word of Sony reviving their Walkman series with the W260 neckband-style MP3 headphones. Well it seems that Sony is going all in and are not just releasing version but four. Of these media players, one really stands out: the Sony Walkman A860. The Walkman A860 may not be waterproof like the W260 model is, but it is intended to be the premier Walkman model with a 2.8" (400 x 280) touchscreen and S-Master MX amplification. This isn’t all as Sony has crammed an enormous amount of technology enhancements into the A860. These enactments have only one goal: to make your audio / visual experience as pleasing as possible. The smallest of these tweaks is the fact that the A860 will actually come with a decent pair of headphones: the MDR-EX300. These headphones retail for nearly $80 and just go to show how serious about your music enjoyment Sony is being with the A860. To help get the most from your music - regardless of the quality of recording - Sony has included 5 "Clear Audio Technologies" to enhance said recordings and theoretically make them sound better than they otherwise would. The A860 is expected to come in two sizes (8GB and 16GB) and retail for $179 to $219.
