Cube farmers have several lines of defenses against their nosy neighbors. From rear-view mirrors to the rapid-fire power stapler, the cube is secure as long as you're there, but what about when you leave the fort to retreat to the water cooler? While lacking audible taunts and electric shock therapy, Sony's VAIO team has developed a portable hard drive that remembers to lock itself while you're away using a wireless keychain dongle similar to the Wireless PC Lock.
The VAIO VGP-UHDM08 Portable Hard Drive with Security holds up to 80GB of NTFS-formatted data, and a 4,200 RPM spin rate means you can read and write files at 20MBps over the Hi-Speed USB 2.0 interface. The drive only weighs 9.7oz including the two AA batteries, and comes with a carrying pouch to protect it from the unforgiving laptop bag. Still, for $300 you'd be better off just remembering the Windows Key + L combination.
