Sony's VAIO Mouse for PowerPoint Presentation

  August 30th, 2005

Here's something that should have been thought of sooner, Sony has released a new "PowerPoint" presentation mouse for their Vaio line of computer peripherals. At the basic level, the PowerPoint is a 4-button, 2.4GHz wireless mouse with an 800-DPI resolution. The mouse also incorporates fluorocarbon resin feet to reduce friction on the desk.

What really makes the PowerPoint shine however is it's joystick pointer where the scroll wheel would normally be on any other mouse. The joystick can be used for scrolling vertically and horizontally, or when the mouse is being used as a presentation remote, the joystick can navigate the cursor on the projector.

This makes for the second presentation mouse that actually works like a mouse, and at 7,980 Yen ($70) it's a lot cheaper than its competitors from Gyration.
