SMSC Shows Off USB Sharing Hub

  December 22nd, 2006

WE RECOMMEND

Back in April SMSC made the news with their MultiSwitch hub that allows the sharing of USB peripherals between systems. The idea is to be able t share printers, mice, keyboards and other USB devices without having to use the LAN. Now SMSC has their first real demo of the tech running. They also say future hubs may allow the use of wireless USB as well. Sounds interesting, but I think most will stick to simply using the network to share their printers, or a KVM to share other input devices.
