The Wattson Monitors Your Power Sapping Ways

  October 3rd, 2007

WE RECOMMEND

Keeping track of the energy you use in your home is a good idea if you’re concerned with the environment and looking to do your part or if you are concerned with your wallet and looking to save some cash. Firebox has a device called The Wattson that helps you to monitor the power you use in your home.

The brick looking device has a wireless receiver that clamps around the leads going from your power meter and requires no electrician to install. Once the wireless sensor is clipped onto the wire, you can monitor power usage from any room in your home on The Wattson box. The box displays the power you are using in watts or pounds sterling and the lights glow different colors depending on your power usage. From the looks of the device, it is intended to the meter style they use in Europe and doesn’t appear that it could work here in America. The device also communicates with your PC via USB and allows you to save info about your power savings.
