Hammacher Schlemmer has a nifty little self contained video camera unit ready for public consumption. This all-in-wonder records audio, images and video while you're out and about doing something interesting. It weighs in at a lilliputian 1.25 oz and can record for 2.5 hours continuously with its internal rechargeable battery. Up to 1,200 still images and six hours of video can be saved onto the included 8GB micro SD memory card. You can also set it to motion activated mode which should extend the total video recording time and preserve the battery a bit.
The ultra portability of this video camera does come with a bit of a sacrifice in terms of quality over and
handheld camcorder. The sensor can only record 320 x 240 resolution at 30 fps. The
camera is recharged by USB cable and the stored data can be retrieved by cable as well as swapping out the card. We can imagine all kinds of security uses for this little jawbreaker extreme nanny-cam. It will, however, take months to stop laughing at the thought of anyone wearing this with the included headband.
