It makes sense that after you churn out a few thousand different types of hard drives that you get tired of thinking of cool names for them. Toshiba seems to have hit a wall with its new USB 3.0 external hard drives. Someone in their marketing department lost their minds and must have grabbed a handful of Scrabble tiles and used exactly what they pulled out. The drives are clad in a piano black case with color accents varying according to capacity/model. The drives range from 500 GB to 1TB in size and on
USB 3.0, should not require any extra power.
USB 3.0 drives should make baking up large systems fun again.
Fortunately, the only part of name we really care about is the Toshiba part. Even if the branding group was on strike or vacation or assimilated, the Toshiba quality and engineering ensure this will be a solid piece of hardware. Still, the STOR.E ART 4 Hard Disk Drive has to be the most randomly named product we've ever heard of. We're still fostering a small hope that the random letters and numbers spell something we're not cool enough to understand. Maybe it's an anagram that can lead you to the location of the Holy Grail. Whoever figures it out first, please drop us a line.
