Newegg.com has listed what appears to be a new USB 2.0 version of the Toshiba HD DVD drive. Designated PA3530U-1HD1, the external tray-loading unit is now in stock and carries a street price of $369.99. And from the looks of it, you will need to lug around the AC adapter (though not bulky). The PA35 is still comparatively slimmer than the HP HD100. Again, for smooth HD playback, your laptop has to be a powerhouse, preferably with a duo core and a GeForce 7-series. I am overly concerned about the 1x HD DVD read speed as the only application for now is movie playback, and it meets the minimum requirement. Other specs aren't that impressive with 8x DVD, 2.4x DVD+R DL, 3x DVD-RAM and 16x CD-R. About Everything USB
