Virtual 7.1 Surround Sound from Trust via USB

  March 1st, 2006

Virtual 7.1 Surround Sound from Trust via USBIf you are a gamer or like to watch movies on your computer, surround sound is one of the best additions you can make for improved immersion in your media. I can count on one hand the number of true surround sound headphones that actually sound good, and I have never tried a pair of virtual surround headphones that work. Should we trust a company named Trust enough to try their 640U Silverline USB headset with 7.1 virtual surround sound?

The 640U has some other redeeming features like being Skype compatible and utilizing a noise reducing microphone. The USB connection is what keeps the surround sound virtual, though for laptop users USB connection is often a plus. The headphones even include environmental sound and EQ settings as well as a karaoke mixer. At the end of the day the sound quality is the important thing and if the 640U headphones sound good or virtually horrible remains to be seen.
