Warm Your Hands with Camouflaged USB

  November 1st, 2005

Inspired by Akihabara News: With winter approaching and the cold nipping away at your digits, it can be quite strenuous to kick-start the day with some extended typing, especially when the air conditioning is stuck on full blast for no apparent reason. Thanko's Rare Mono Shop in Japan, the same people who brought us the iSharpener and FlowerPot USB speaker are now arming your hands with the warming sensation of USB-powered gloves.

The gloves are similar to an electric blanket, using your computer's 5V rail to generate heat in the palm of your hand to quickly warm it up. There's four open holes for the fingers so you can type while wearing them, and they could come in really handy when a space heater doesn't comply with company policy. There's also been a few unconfirmed reports that the camouflage printed fabric also renders your hands invisible, something unheard of for a $1,980 ($17) gizmo.
