USB Flash Drives Failing 300% More This Past Year

How do you handle and care for your USB drive? Do you throw it in your purse or brief case? Do you jam it in and out of the USB port like a Chimpanzee trying to catch termites on a pointy stick? Could the increase in failure over the last year just be simply related to the increased adoption of USB drives in general? Payam Data Recovery (PDR) has some ideas about the causes.

PDR gave some details about what might be causing the increasing failure in an interview with iTWire. They indicated possible cause for failures cold be improper storage and transportation, improper removal and simple mishandling. I think the increase in failure could also just be because of more widespread adoption of USB drives. The more you have in circulation, the more there are to fail.
