USB Doorbell Plays Any MP3 Tone You Like

  June 20th, 2007

If you have ring tones for your cell phone, ring tones for your home phone, you might as well add ring tones to your door bell too. If that boring ding-dong just isn’t cutting it over at ThinkGeek you can get a USB doorbell that connects to your existing low-voltage doorbell system that allows you to choose any Wav or MP3 sound file of up to 30 seconds to be your ringer. I’m partial to lurch and his monotone, “You Rang.” The chime is powered by three AA batteries in addition to being connected to your doorbell systems wiring. The price is $99.99 and the USB doorbell is available now. From the product shots at ThinkGeek, it looks like this USB chime sticks way out from your wall when installed.
