USB Duet - Hi-Speed Networking via Regular Cable

  August 29th, 2006

WE RECOMMEND
Whether it's USB 1.1 or 2.0, there's always a host computer controlling the device. Now, PLX has made some breakthrough in allowing host ports to become guest on another computer. The evolutionary tech, called USB Duet, has several advantages, notably for networking via a regular USB cable. Applications include speedy PC migration over Hi-Speed USB as Vista launch date nears and for simple file transfers that totally bypasses heavy traffic Ethernet & WiFi networks.

PLX visions all motherboards will have one so they can make big bucks off licensing the USB Duet which can be integrated to a PCI bus. Supposedly, USB Duet will eventually migrate to Wireless USB.
