Western Digital's 'My Book' Stores Volumes of Data

  March 9th, 2006

Western Digital's 'My Book' Stores Volumes of DataWestern Digital's My Book Essential Edition sounds like a book collection of some sort, but you know better that anything coming out from this company has to do with PC storage. The My Book is an external hard drive that is connected via a USB 2.0 port and sports a 320 GB capacity. The My Book is also very interesting to look at, and is vaguely XBOX like in its design.

The specifications of the drive are 320GB storage capacity, 7200 RPM and an 8 MB cache. (No, it's not a RAID0 comprising of dual 160GB... Western Digital has an internal IDE of this capacity) The drive also turns on and off automatically with your computer so you don't waste electricity and you don't have to turn of an additional piece of equipment. The $249.99 'My Book' is Mac OS X 10.1+ and Windows compatible from 98 SE up.
