Wireless USB is obviously a long way from being practical for most consumers. Early adopters are frustrated by the lackluster speed of the early cordless hubs, not to mention their price premium. If the speed is satisfactory, that wouldn't be so bad. To tackle with these problems, Wisair claims its UltraSpeed WSR601 CMOS - now costing 50% less - can boost speed to 70-100Mbps when connected to a Host Wire Adapter, and up to 200Mbps when paired with a WUSB native host. This is up from 40Mbps offered by Belkin Cable-Free Hub. In the end, this announcement is more exciting to OEMs than consumer joe, but at least, WUSB is making some progress. About Everything USB
