X-Box 360 Wireless Peripheral Receiver for PC

  May 11th, 2006

X-Box 360 Wireless Peripheral Receiver for PCThis announcement is huge for those who do the same amount of gaming on both X-Box 360 and PC. Microsoft says all the upcoming and current X-Box 360 wireless gamepad, $130 steering wheel and $60 headset will be compatible with Windows XP if you get their proprietary wireless USB receiver, retailing for $20 according to Joystiq.

While this move by MS might be seen as a way to show appreciation for X-Box 360 owners, this could be a somewhat big blow to game companies who still depend on game controller sales to stay afloat. Gizmodo tried to flank MS PR for info regarding HD DVD USB Drive PC compatibility, but got "TBD" as reply. We wonder when MS will mod their mice and keyboards for X-Box 360 as well. Until then Logitech is still safe.
