If you have ever looked with envy at the Xbox 360 HD DVD player and wished you could hook it to your PC and use it to play HD flicks on your HDTV of PC display, you are in luck. While the box says that you need an Xbox 360 to be able to use the Xbox 360 HD DVD player, it can be used on your PC as the guys at Legit Reviews found out. On a Windows Vista based media center computer they connected the Xbox HD DVD player and found the drivers wouldn’t install, but the drive would still play movies. After updating Vista, the drive installed as a Toshiba DVD/HD player and they were in business. After the install and connection to the HDTV via HDMI, the player worked flawlessly. This is certainly a sweet use for one of the cheapest HD DVD players out there.
