MagicMouse USB Ring, Revolution in PC Interface?

If you have seen the film Minority Report, you probably recall the glove Tom "Psycho” Cruise uses to interface with the computer. It seems we are closer to that type of PC interface thanks to the MagicMouse which is a three-dimensional mouse that is worn like a ring. You move the cursor around the screen by pointing and moving the index finger, zooming in is done by moving the hand closer to the screen and moving and pointing can be done at the same time. An array of precisely aligned receivers tracks the motion of the ultrasonic sensor of the MagicMouse. A group of students designed the MagicMouse as their design project and use the standard USB interface and communications protocols of normal mice so no special software is required.
