Marvel (and Disney) absolutely love merchandizing, and it comes as no surprise that with their latest instalment of release of Captain America, a veritable tsunami of movie tie-in products will be hitting consumers over the next few weeks. As this has something to do with flash drives, Infothink returns with its nifty designed flash drive.

In keeping with the whole “Captain America” brand, this zinc alloy flash drive is shaped like the famed Cap’n’s shield – right down to the red whit a blue coloring with single white star in the center. As a nice touch, this miniaturized shield comes with an integrated lanyard so that it can be worn as a necklace. However, with a diameter of 38mm and a thickness of 11mm, it will be a touch clunky to do – even if it ‘only’ weighs at 70g.

This little ‘marvel’ has not one but 2 USB plugs. One is your typical full size USB 3.0 port meant for connecting to a laptop while the other is meant for connecting to smartphones, tablets and other devices which support USB OTG. The latter interface is without a doubt designed for use with Android tablets and smartphones. Beside of the OTG, there aren’t any major cosmetic changes – unlike the Iron Man-series.

At this time, you will have to hit eBay for these but with asking prices, that start at $59.99 (8GB) and go up to $83.99 for the 32GB model it may just make some serious fanboi ‘squeee. ‘ in delight.
