There is something missing in John Haller's collection of USB apps. With the launch of the PortableApps Suite, we know it's a launchpad. The package expanded to a hefty 273MB comprises of ClamWin anti-virus, FireFox, Gaim IM, OpenOffice, Sudoku (yay!), Sunbird calendar, Thunderbird email client as well as a much needed U3-like launchpad that lets you organize all apps in Haller's format alphabetically. Also included is backup/restore utility. You'll need at least a 512MB drive to run all these apps properly. Without proper encryption, I would recommend a 256-bit AES hardware-encrypted drive. If you want to select your own apps, you can choose the 1MB PortableApps Suite Base Edition instead. The suite also reaches 150k downloads. And best of all, it's free. About Everything USB
