John's Free Suite of Portable Goodies

We here at EverythingUSB have been truely appreciative of John Haller's work optimizing our favorite open source applications to run directly from a flash drive. Now John has put everything into one big fat downloadable package, cleverly dubbed "your computer without the computer".

The Portable Apps Suite comes with portable versions of the AbiWord word processor, Mozilla Firefox and Thunderbird for web browsing and email, Mozilla Sunbird for calendars and to-do lists, FireZilla for FTP, NVU for basic HTML editing, and OpenOffice for everything well, office related. The download weighs in at 117MB and should be used on 256MB drives, although a 44MB Light version is also available for 128MB drives. Grab them now - they're free!
