Chinese Pointing Device is Part Tablet & Part Mouse

  March 22nd, 2007

As hard a time as I have trying to type some days I can only imagine the difficulty that those native Chinese speakers have typing in all their Chinese characters. To that end a Chinese company called Hanwang has a new mouse that is just for the Chinese market. This mouse is your typical pointing affair. I see no mention of the mouse sensitivity but I’m guessing it is 800dpi. The big change for this mouse is a built in pad that recognizes handwriting. Chinese characters can be scribed directly on the dragon pad with the stylus concealed inside the mouse and captured for use in Word documents and the like. Pretty cool tech to input difficult to type characters. Five different colors are available including the pearl red you see in this image. No word available on pricing and availability.
