"A Really Nifty Product"
Any fan will make noise...it's air being moved past plastic blades, of course it makes noise (what fan doesn't?). It has a relatively small cone of effect - which, if using a laptop that doesn't have heat problems (i.e. ANY iBook or PowerBook under normal use) that will adequately cool one's face. It really does a great job of this. Any undue drain on the battery could indicate a poorly designed USB power bus on the particular model computer, but is certainly not a universally experienced effect.

Kensington has really developed a solid and innovative line of products and this is just another example of the kind of out-of-the-box thinking that characterizes forward movement.

Highly recommended!

"Excellent! Works great as an external cooler..."
for my laptop. Of pretty dubious use to fan a human btu works flawlessly as an external CPU cooling device for my laptop CPU. Running a SprintPCS 3G wireless modem was giving my VAIO SR fits. It runs over 30 degrees cooler while the fan is running! The PC Card modem would get irrationally hot, but isn't even warm to the touch after an hour's use. Great product!!!
