The Angel Bicycle helmet certainly is an intriguing invention. With the advent of mandatory bicycle helmets and lights on all bicycles, the number of serious injuries bicyclists suffer has greatly decreased. Sadly, while helmets do a decent job of keeping your melon intact, they do little for warning motorists that you are there. The reverse is true of bicycle lights. They help drivers be aware of you before you become road kill but that is about it. Having said that, the two have never been combined to make one product that is greater than the sum of its parts; or at least not up until now that is. Angel Bicycle helmet is a fairly standard looking, vented polycarbonate based bicycle helmet, with two distinct features. The biggest of these is the waterproof, 360 degree glow which emanates from its LEDs. This ensures that no matter how bad the weather or heavy the traffic is, drivers will be aware of you as the lights are naturally at eye level for cars and trucks. The second feature is a built-in USB charging port for the on-board batteries. The only caveat worth pointing out is that you will indeed get odd looks and may even be distracting to motorists as you will look like a Angel with a halo. We will abstain from commenting on what kind of fashion statement you will be making with this helmet, as your safety is more important. With a price of only about $87, the Angel Bicycle Helmet certainly is cheap insurance.
