Digital Albums Starting to Pop Up on Flash Drives

Digital Albums Starting to Pop Up on Flash Drives

Proving that online music downloads aren't the only place that consumers are getting music and that retail sales aren't quite dead, the band Mars Volta has released their latest album on a $30 flash drive. "The Bedlam in Goliath" comes completely DRM free so users can do use it as they please.

Other than a fancy Ouija board like drive, those that purchase the album in digital form will be treated to new content on the 29th of each month, ranging from extra music to pictures and wallpaper. This isn't the first time that we have seen music on a flash drive as J. Lo did it a while back. It isn't going to be the last either. Universal already has plans to do the same for Erykah Badu's upcoming release as well.
