Warpia ConnectHD Brings All-in-one HD Video Conferencing to Any Room
If you'd like to add video conferencing to your conference room or even your living room, Warpia has an option for you. The ConnectHD allows you to connect and HDMI television to an out of the way computer for tangle free video conferencing. Connected via Wireless USB, the video station captures audio and video through a microphone and a 720p camera and displays 1080p video. This minuscule unit can be placed almost invisibly in your existing living room, HTPC room or conference room. It only needs AC power and an HDMI connection to display the video. All of the rest of the work can be handled behind the curtains by any of your favorite video chat programs like Skype. While most standard laptops possess all the requisite hardware to do most of the same. Warpia's ConnectHD is an upgrade in quality on most fronts. The microphone has been tuned for 360 degree input and can easily be wall mounted or placed in the center of a conference room table. The wireless transmission distance is said to be 30 feet. If these claims are true it far surpass others that we have tested that struggled past 10 feet and required line of sight placement. Price is a fair $199 relative to the price of an HD webcam plus wireless video transmission system. There's no estimate for availability past the sneak preview promised at CES.
