Belkin Gigabit Adapter on 480Mbps USB 2.0?

If your notebook or desktop computer doesn't have a gigabit network adapter, and you want to increase your data transfer speeds Belkin has a USB network adapter that might do the trick. While the size of the adapter may block some existing USB ports, if you are using a laptop or don't want to open your desktop PC up, a USB adapter may be your best choice.

The Belkin Gigabit USB 2.0 Network Adapter can auto negotiate for 10, 100, or 1000 Mbps. The network card also adjusts for straight through and crossover cables, so you don't have to worry about the cable type you select. Compatibility is with both Mac and PC and the adapter includes Belkin's lifetime warranty. Belkin's USB gigabit network adapter may be the fastest way to begin transferring files and documents 1000 Mbps. With all this said, you need keep in mind that USB 2.0 caps out at 480 Mbps. How Belkin expects you to be able to transfer 1000 Mbps over the USB bus is a curiosity.
